That's a great idea!
Having grown up on the service and technical side of the printing industry, I haven't seen a lot of proactive thinking when it comes to equipment maintenance. There is no question that being proactive or reactive has a major impact as to the quality, performance and the end result.
It just doesn't make any sense to me how so many companies run their equipment until they it doesn't print or run properly...or just stops!
The image below is from a press we refurbished and installed. This is what one of the inkers looked like after operating for a number of years. Pretty much a reactive mentality..wouldn't you say.
These practices for the most part are hidden and gradually erode profits from the biggest company to the smallest.
With profits shrinking smaller and smaller, can anyone afford to be reactive and survive these days? Where does this thinking start in a company? Can this mentality be changed?
