THAT'S A FOUL: Liverpool supporters fall victim to unofficial online sellers

“We understand that there are fans who are desperate to see their team, but we have a clear and fair ticketing policy and system at the Amex”.

Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion uncovered a ticketing scam that led to a total of 150 ticket holders — mostly Liverpool fans — paying extortionate prices to attend last weekend’s FA Cup tie at the Amex. Many were also denied access to the stadium.

“Fans were being charged up to £250 for tickets, which were essentially worthless”, explains Brighton’s head of supporter services, Jenny Gower. “Our message is quite clear, touts have no place in football." She went on to say that it's an “absolutely shameless exploitation of football fans”.

As Brighton home fans become “increasingly frustrated” with away supporters appearing in home areas, the club has reminded a “very small minority” of home fans to not pass on tickets to visiting supporters. "Those who do will face sanctions for breaching our ticketing terms and conditions", said Gower.
