For people who have some time to read my Tech M experience :)
“ I strongly believe that, We should never forget the path that we Travelled” And today I am trying to re-trace my travelled path in Tech M, Hope I will be successful.
It was a fabulous experience working with Tech M & I still remember my first day in the company as an ITPian (Initial Training Programme) in Manikchand Ikon Building, Pune, India. I was part of NCS PUN026 batch ( hmm, well I have a good memory isn’t ? :) ).
4 people got selected in Tech M campus placements from our college: Myself, Ganesh, Lakshmi Prasanna & Saranya. Our joining was in Pune, India on 26th Feb 2010. I still remember we all boarding the train at Majestic railway station, Bangalore on 23th Feb 2010. It was with mixed feeling with which we all started our journey and reached Pune on 24th Feb 2010 morning. I was lucky as Prasanna had his friend working in Indian Army & he was in Pune at that time. We directly went to his place, had a nice breakfast and started watching “Indai vs South Africa” ODI. It was this day “#Sachin Tendulkar” scored his first 200 in ODI :) & I still remember this as It was my first day in Pune.
We reported to Tech M office on 26th Feb 2010, finished our joining formalities & From 29th Feb 2010 we I started with my Training schedule. In Tech M every candidate who got selected through campus selection has to undergo a 3 months Training programme & only after a successful completion our job offer will be confirmed. It was a very challenging phase with lots of sleepless nights & reminded me my college days again because of theory classes, practicals & lab exams. After undergoing 3 months of rigorous training, we were all waiting for project allocations. This is a very critical phase as this decides our career path so we were all very eager to know whether we will be put in Dev/testing/Support projects.
On one afternoon I just finished my lunch in Tech M Hinjewadi campus, Pune and went for a walk & during this time I suddenly got a call from PERF ENGG group & it was Hampaiah, My first manager. He quickly discussed about my joining in Sharada center, Pune, India and asked me to join Srinivasa Jandyala’s team. I reported on the said date where I met Anil rahate, Adithya & Uday hasrali. They were nice and patience with me in answering my 100’s of curious questions about the PERF ENGG group and its services. After few days of research, lots of reading & analysis, I decided “ Yes, I will shape my career as a Performance Engineer”.
After 3 weeks with Pune team, I was asked to join Perf-Engg team in Hyderabad. I had a fantastic send off from my Pune ITPian friends on 24th July 2010 and reached Hyderabad the next morning. As it was a weekend , I had a nice break before I reported to office on Monday 26th July 2010. I reported to Tech M office in Hi-Tech City, Madhapur Hyderabad where I was told to work with Nagesh goud, who was a lead Performance DBA. Thanks to him for all his guidance and till this date I am still using the knowledge that I have gained from him. I worked in Hyderabad for 11 months and then I got transferred to Bangalore, India. I requested for it as it was my home town :)
It was June 2011 when I reported to Tech M office in Dairy circle, Bangalore. I was working for #CISCO client and this project is very crucial in my career as it took my technical expertise to a next level. I got a chance to work with very talented people like Saifulla Khalid, Rishi Raj, Rajkumar jayaraman a DBA, Satish Akkala & our CISCO clients, Babu Mahadevan & Vadi. There was a lot to learn from all these people & I was continuously absorbing all the knowledge that I could.
My next assignment was “Vodafone Qatar” in July 2012 I got a chance to travel onsite to Doha, Qatar. This was my first overseas travel so I was very much exited. “Qatar Airways” is the first airliner I travelled with & it was an awesome experience as it was my first flight journey and I felt lucky to travel with 5 start airliner :). I celebrated 2013 new year in Qatar as It was my first new year celebration in abroad, I enjoyed a lot & it is memorable. This project was very challenging & with lots of learning scope which boosted my skills further. I got good colleagues/friends during this project: Sandeep, Vignesh, Amol. Again it’s a big list so I am just naming a few of them.
My next engagement was in Fleet, UK in April 2013. I was lucky as the winter was just fading out and summer was starting. It was still 12 Deg C when I landed in London, Heathrow airport. Someone told me it’s summer in UK so I was so careless that I did not even carry a jacket with me. I did not realize that summer in UK will be this cold :). First shopping that did in UK was a nice warm jacket :). This project was very critical for BT and we had lot of pressure to complete the project on time. Initially it was bit hard to catch up the pace but I was all good in a week’s time. I got a chance to work with Shiva Kolanupakam, Saurabh, Lakshmi Masuram & our BT clients Deepak Thakur & Jason.
My next assignment was in Bangalore, India & it was October 2013. I had to work from client location & Sony was my Client. I really loved the perfect work life balance working with #Sony. This is when I got married and I felt really lucky because I really needed more time to spend with my life partner. Shiva & Prem singh were my managers from Sony they were really very cool. Bhanu prakash, Shivas, pruthvi, joythi, Nishanth & vamsi were my team mates who are still in touch :)
It was September 2014 and My next assignment was in Melbourne, Australia & Telstra is the Client. My kid was just a month old so it was very hard for me to take a decision to travel but still I did thinking it’s for my career and I have to do it. Work was challenging/exiting as I got a chance to work on new technologies. Team size in Melbourne was very small with only 3 of us but it was fun working with Jerome & Chandra. Initially It was bit challenging to get on track because of the new tools that we had to use & etc but it was manageable with the great support that I got from Srinivas rao, Tech M counterpart who was already at Onsite before I joined the team.
I have got a chance to work with nice managers in Tech M like Vijay Paluri, Srinivasa Kolla, Santosh Mudiganti, Kadali, Mallik, Venkat, Suhel, Rajan & Hari during my tenure with Tech M. I need to thank all of them for their guidance/support that was extended to me throughout my career in Tech M.
I would like to personally thank Srinivasa Kolla who helped me with right opportunities at the right time & I strongly feel I owe a million thanks to him. He is the one who helped me to get exposure to the International market and also the reason for me to be in Australia today. Everyone needs someone like him in life to get that extra push when you most wanted it. Thanks again Kolla :)
I was of a “Work hard & Party hard kind”. But How to party hard in a place where you hardly have any friends ?? Fortunately, this was not a problem for me as I had many fellow ITP’ans who joined the team almost around same time like I did. We had a very good time & still my memories are fresh J. Weekend outings, late night parties, sports on weekends, WOW it was a very nice experience :).
I am still in touch with my ITP’an friends/colleagues Shiva, Vinodh, Sudi, Hari, Phani, Naresh, Raviteja, Suhail, Priyanka, Asha, Anusha, snigdha, lakshmi.... It’s a big list so I have just quoted Hyderabad ITP’an friends.
Ya, this is pretty much about my journey with Tech M which started on 26th Feb 2010 in Pune, India and ending on 22nd April 2016 in Melbourne, Australia. I was very brief just not to make the readers bored with my write-up. I will really miss Tech M & also the nice colleagues that I worked with but these sweet memories will remain with me forever :)
