Thanks for the reviews of my construction management books
Paul Netscher
Construction management consultant and writer. Sharing 30 years of construction management experience.
It's hugely inspiring to receive a good review for your book. To know that after months of hard work, writing, editing and re-editing your work, that someone, somewhere in the world, has appreciated your efforts. Amazon has now combined reviews from all their Amazon websites in various countries across the world, so that all the reviews are displayed for the book, no matter which country you choose to shop.
It's amazing to see good reviews for my books from Amazon sites in the USA, UK, India, Australia, Canada, Spain, Mexico, and Italy, all on one page for that book. I also appreciate that some of the reviews for my books on Amazon.com are written by readers who live in other countries, including Russia and South Africa.
In addition, I occasionally become aware of reviews written on websites, such as Goodreads, and on various other booksellers' websites, including in Saudi Arabia.
Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to write a review for one of my books, or who have contacted me directly to share their opinion. It's pleasing to know that I've made a small difference in construction, somewhere in the world. I understand that construction books aren't exciting or glamorous - in fact they're usually quite boring, so it's good to know that some people want to improve their construction knowledge and have taken time to read one of my construction management books.
I know that my books aren't perfect and I would like to rewrite some to make improvements and add new experiences into them. I always appreciate constructive comments.
What is apparent from the reviews is that the construction industry across the world faces many similar challenges, the biggest of which include; a lack of skilled and experienced people, clients who are only focused on obtaining the cheapest price from their contractors, poorly managed projects (from a client and contractor perspective), contractors that aren't paid, lengthy and expensive disputes, and a discontinuous work stream resulting in times of feast and famine for contractors.
In my construction management books and articles I hope to improve some of these issues, and try to share my practical knowledge and experience with both contractors and clients. We can improve our construction projects, achieving good quality, constructing safely, eliminating waste, improving productivity, reducing disputes, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Construction projects should be a win for all involved, clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, workers, and the end user. The success of one party should never be at the expense of someone else.
Together we can make every construction project successful. Lets share our knowledge and experience.
Thanks to all my readers.
