Thanks to GRACE, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer

GRACE helps us see the light at the end of the tunnel, with a nod towards my friend and colleague John Baldoni who writes and podcasts Grace Under Pressure. I use GRACE as an acronym in order to take stock of where we’ve been and where we’re going. Gratitude and generosity, Reflection, Ahead, Change, and Engage. Which techniques are you using to lead others towards a new beginning?

GRATITUDE for keeping you and others safe because we all are lucky, whether we survived an actual Covid attack or avoided one completely. And your reward is to be generous to those who have faced the greatest challenges. This is not the time to count pennies but to share what you’ve received. Go ahead and Make Someone’s Day! You’ll feel better and so will they.

REFLECT on what you’ve learned, how you’ve grown, what you’ve shared. Whoever thought we could exercise to a computer screen? (Actually Jack LaLanne and Richard Simmons did on TV in the 60s-70s!)

Forge AHEAD. This is not the time to go back, to “return” to normal. There isn’t a normal anymore it’s whatever we’re moving towards. So look forward and see what you can learn, do, and offer.

CHANGE is here to stay, and the only difference is that it is becoming more frequent and in all of our lives. Learn what you did to make it through all the changes we faced during the pandemic, and how you can apply that going forward. With so many tools at your disposal, we need to embrace change as a way to continuously grow.

ENGAGE. This is not the time to back away but to engage in what’s new, remember what’s old, stay open to what’s coming and use what you’ve learned. And be sure to engage with technology and especially engage with people.

GRACE has helped. Let it keep helping you as you move ahead in a world that’s “Normal Now.”
