“Come let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great king above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before our Lord our maker.” -Psalms 95:1-6 NIV
Lord, I want to thank you for being patient with me. I know you have given me small subtle signs in the past and my youthfulness and stubbornness just wouldn’t allow me to take those signs and come to you. I know that you wait for all of us to see things in a different light so that we may learn that you, God, will provide us with all that we need. Maybe not what we want, but with what we need Lord. I see that now and have decided to be more thankful for that which you provide myself and my family and I hope to teach my children with what you are teaching me.
Lord, I want to tell you I am very thankful you have put my wife and two kids into my life and that they make me happy each and every day. I am happy with the things that you have provided us and the direction you are taking us in. We want to let you know that if it wasn’t for you coming into our lives, our hearts, we would still be lost. Lord, we want to help others see this as well and let them know not to be afraid and you will help them.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” -1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV
Lord, as you know, I have always loved Thanksgiving because it brought family together, and this one is no different for most people. But this is very different for my family because my mother, as you know, passed away of cancer earlier this year. It was a sad time, stressful, and very painful. We lost a mother, and I lost my brother (Not to death) as well who I will pray for daily because he is lost, Lord. I am thankful for him, my mother, and all my family but I will pray for them, and my brother and hope that you will take care of them all. I hope he finds his way.
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgements pronounced, you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.” -Psalms 105:1-6 NIV
Thank you, God, for everything and bless all of us! “Now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” -2 Corinthians 3:17 NIV
Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family!!
I do not write these stories for anything other than to invite you to church with me and see the world from a different view. Regardless of whether we are in the same area or not, I invite you to church to maybe see things in a different light.
