THANKFUL THURSDAYS, WEEK TWO

IT'S THANKFUL THURSDAY!!

Experiments in Theater is a small, Rhode Island-based sole proprietorship that relies on partnerships with local community organizations to bring youth theater programs into our schools. As we approach the giving season, we wanted to acknowledge these partnerships far and wide and advocate for our collaborators by urging you to support them in the coming weeks.

This week, I’d like to spotlight The Cultural Organization of the Arts. COA is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing quality cultural arts programming to all students in East Greenwich public schools. Experiments in Theater has enjoyed a dynamic partnership with the East Greenwich school district since 2004 and several of Experiments in Theater’s full-scale musical productions within the district were supported by grants from COA. 

Since its incorporation 1980, COA has collaborated with many other local, arts-based organizations including the Greenwich Odeum, Bring Your Own Improv, the Salt Marsh Opera, the State Ballet of Rhode Island, LADAMA, RI Black Storytellers and many, many more. 

Now more than ever, COA plays a significant role in supporting teachers and students who are engaged in hybrid learning. COA has already unearthed many opportunities to pair exceptional teaching artists with district educators who need support or augmentation to their curriculum. 

As of October, I am proud to be serving COA as their part-time Executive Director and I look forward to procuring robust arts programming and supporting the district through a uniquely challenging year.
