Last week, I offered a moment to catch up on the first 15 chapters of The Realm Between. I also indicated that I would be taking on Chapters 16-20 this week and Chapters 21-28, December 28. As I am just commencing Christmas and Holiday Break today, and still allowing for catch up, I will now do Chapter 16 today, and then do a big bonanza blog on Chapters 17-28 next week.
As part of this leg of my Sharpen the Blades blog series, I continue my reading of The Realm Between... and its application to life.... and I am loooving it. The story is capturing me and I am finding direct relevance and resonance for my own life, in this realm. So, I am inviting you to join me on the journey. CHAPTER 16: Dross Wars
This is one heavy Chapter, filled with meaty language and the sense of fierce battle. I got the sense that this was both chaotic and purposeful. The dross was seemingly relentless and the responses, in defense, needed to be equally and even more so. Enter...
As I read, I could not help but think of all the doubts and distractions and more that come in life. They are not unlike doing battle with Orcs. I see the Dross the same way. It demands of us Strength. And, Strength is practiced, a virtue called upon especially when we do not necessarily feel it. I am thankful for Strength.
I am grateful for it. It is not of me, but I can access it. It is not unlike an arrow in my own quiver. It is a blessing; a gift in the face of tests. We can call upon Strength in times of trial. Indeed, we must. It does not make it easy; but it makes things possible. It becomes our light... our fire. Think of Strength as a sword, spear or arrow. Think of it as a beast or angel to call upon. Then, call upon it. Be thankful for it. Be kind to yourself by doing so and calling upon it.
I constructively and humbly challenge you to (a) catch up on The Realms Between and (b) reflect on the virtue that is Strength. What would it look like for you now? Where and with what or whom? Call upon it.
Peace, passion and prosperity...
