Thankful for my journey!

This is the time of year to reflect on the journey we have taken so far; I am Thankful for it all. I am Thankful to Banner personnel for hiring me right out of college and providing me with some of the best training in the industry! It was there that I was introduced to Perm Placement, which has become my passion.

Banner Personnel was also a very humbling time of my life, as I was laid off at age 28. I believe that everyone should be laid off at least once because it gives you perspective and reminds you that you are replaceable so TAKE THAT CALL FROM THAT RECRUITER. ??

After being laid off I decided to take a stab at being an owner, sadly I failed miserably and made close to nothing, Forcing me to go back into the work world.

When I got a call from the owner of Chase Staffing to open his first branch in Illinois, I jumped on the opportunity to take on the challenge. Little did I know, this would be the path to learning how to open my own business. In this portion of my career, I learned how to work and work hard to achieve a top branch out of 70 in 2 years. I received many awards and accolades during this season of my career, which served to? build my confidence and prepared me for my future endeavors.

While at Chase Staffing, I got a call from a Recruiter that introduced me to Manpower. Manpower allowed me to only focus on Perm Placement, my true passion. At that time, I took what appeared to be a step down in my career, which my husband was not so happy about. But I chose to follow my heart and do what made me come alive. By my second year, I was one of the top recruiters in the nation and traveling to circle of the stars yearly! The moral of that story is to truly follow your heart’s passion and everything else will usually follow.

What came next was an interesting twist! I had always wondered what it's like to be on the corporate side and I finally got that chance to start my own department and help a startup? go from 100 employees to 400. It was rewarding and fun, but not as rewarding as staffing was for me. There aren’t adequate words to express the happiness this industry brings me! Unfortunately, I needed to quit. Something I had never done in my whole life, because I was taught never to quit. Quitting was a difficult choice, but it proved to be the best answer for me at that time.

In late 2019, I opened Intangible Assets, LLC (www.theintangibleassets.com ) . I ask myself everyday why I did not open my company sooner and the answer may be that? you have to go through your journey before you can take a leap like that. You have to be humbled, built up, and handed lessons throughout that unique professional journey. I am thankful for all the lessons I have learned and for all the constant support I have received since opening Intangible Assets. I am thankful that I am no longer torn between my family and my employer, but can now find harmony with it all.

From my team and family to yours, I’d like to wish you the happiest Thanksgiving! Enjoy your journey and remember that you never know where it may lead. Embrace the moment: both good and bad times, as they are all beautiful gifts wrapped up in lessons. Celebrate your successes and learn from your mistakes. Don’t dwell on things too long. Deflect the negative and the “time suckers” and prioritize your time wisely. Stay focused, calm and thoughtful. It all will fall into place when the time is right.
