Thankful for Corporations that Care

Thankful for Corporations that Care

Just as the World Health Organization declared a pandemic, the Orange County Rescue Mission leadership team and I began working swiftly and prayerfully to prepare not only our student and resident populations, but also our work environments. Because Governor Newsom declared organizations like ours to remain open as essential services (and we were so thankful!), this means that our employees need to continue to come to work, instead of working from home. The safety measures we have put into place, and the prayers of many, have meant that we have had zero COVID-19 cases among our employees.

I was really grateful that a few local restaurants agreed with me that “Heroes Work Here” at Orange County Rescue Mission, and they offered free and discounted lunches to our staff. Often there was enough food leftover to share with the students at Village of Hope and the guests at Tustin Temporary Emergency Shelter.

Thank you, Flame Broiler, Original Taco Factory, Long’s Kitchen in Irvine, and Panini Kabob for blessing our employees and students!
