Thank You, VI Paraeducators

At SBES, Inc. we value our highly trained VI Paraeducators. They are highly trained in how to assist their students in learning braille, VI technology, and accessing the curriculum with hands-on materials. Our VI Paraeducators spend all day at the student's school. While there, they help promote independence and inclusion for students who are blind. Many of our VI Paraeducators have gone on to learn braille in-depth or become experts in how to use the specialized VI technology their students use daily so they can troubleshoot when necessary. Our VI Paraeducators ensure that all materials are accessible and work closely with the other specialists to make sure that everything is provided in a format the student can easily access. You can find them making or providing materials from other sources, assisting Teachers of the Visually Impaired, assisting classroom teachers, and assisting other professionals to understand blindness and their student's needs. VI Paraeducators are highly specialized individuals and bring equity, access, and inclusion into the classroom.
