Thank You Thursday for “Giving Tuesday”
Our Campaign gets a triple boost
#GivingTuesday, following the US Thanksgiving weekend, has become the officially-recognized day of the year to give back.? Over the last week leading-up to the day, we ramped up our marketing to share that Ottawa couple, Laurie and Michel Brazeau , were tripling donations, up to $100,000, to inspire our region to help reshape the future of healthcare.
From radio ads on CFRA to print ads in the Ottawa Citizen to social media posts and ads, the message was loud and clear: each gift presents a unique opportunity to be part of a movement that will not only elevate research and care, but also transform our city into a world-leading healthcare hub.
And we are so thrilled by the response.? Nearly a thousand donors contributed, which, with the Brazeau’s gift, raised over $300,000 for the day – our best Giving Tuesday ever!? Thank you to everyone that contributed, and to Michel and Laurie for their generous inspirational gift.? ??
If you're unfamiliar with the Brazeau family, I encourage you to read and share their story . Their personal journey and triple gift match was so successful in inspiring others to donate generously.
You can also listen to last Saturday's episode of "An Hour To Give," where Michel and Tim Kluke joined Sam Laprade, CFRE to talk about our Campaign to Create Tomorrow and the incredible impact our new hospital campus will have on the future of our community, and beyond, for generations.
“An Hour To Give” is being broadcast on Rogers TV throughout the week at 10 a.m. Give it a watch!
“This new hospital is needed”
On Nov. 23, we announced an incredible $5-million donation from Yves Tremblay and Sylvie Villeneuve to our Campaign to Create Tomorrow! Known for their extensive philanthropy and community involvement, Yves and Sylvie have made this their most substantial charitable contribution yet.
Featured in ads in the?Ottawa Citizen?and?Le Droit,?they're challenging our community to give back. Join us in celebrating their generosity.

Three?of our own take home major accolades
On Thursday, Nov. 23, I had a fantastic time attending my first Best Ottawa Business Awards, presented by the Ottawa Business Journal and the Ottawa Board of Trade, where three of our very own were honoured.
Nathalie Cadieux, CFO of The Ottawa Hospital, was named CFO of the Year, Mike McGahan, a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors, received the CEO of the Year award, and Kevin Ford , the CEO of Calian Group and one of our Board members, took home both the Kanata North Business Association "Company of the Year" and one of the 2023 Best Business Awards alongside his team!
The timing couldn’t be better. With our Campaign picking up steam, these recognitions highlight the exceptional leadership and strategic expertise guiding our hospital and foundation and our deep commitment to uplifting our community.
