Thank you teachers & students!

In Indian traditions, the role of the teacher is considered as supreme- higher than that of a parent. 

When we look at ourself critically, and connect the dots backwards, we realise that a lot of our opinions or affinity for a particular subject- all lead to a teacher whom we would have encountered somewhere in our journey- someone who left that lasting impression on us unbeknown to us. 

These are the people who understood the importance of that soft word, that pat on the back, that smile and the strictness that goes along with the academic 'syllabus' to create an impression and a lasting bond with the young minds. 

For the fortunate ones who grow up and crossover to the other side and become a teacher themselves, this relationship takes on another beautiful role! And here's where you realise that the student teaches you just as much as you think you are teaching them. The smiles,the curiosity and the questioning- all tend to keep you on your toes. Their awesome banter turns you into a much younger and happier version of yourself! Teaching needs to be a choice that's made willingly. For those who haven't ventured into this territory yet, I would say- go out and re-discover yourself! 

On this teachers'day, I'd like to thank all my teachers for being there and help me carve my path out. And I'd also like to thank my students for adding so much insanity to my life - which I realise is mandatory to keep me sane in this solemn world of today!
