Thank you Singapore!

Standing in the world’s best airport at Changi, I am reminded of the first time I stepped into this airport 2.5 years ago with a look of wonder: the state of the art facilities and how everything is organized in such an efficient and smart way. It was a big welcome and a very warm one indeed (quite literally). 

And this big welcome didn’t just end there. I was greeted with a vibrant culture - one which embraces diversity at its core. And it showed in the open mindedness of the people, the singlish we speak, and the harmony that we enjoy. 

And this amazing city found its way to a huge part of my heart. It’s a place where ‘everything works’, everything is efficient, orderly and top notch. And of course behind this are the brilliant minds of Singaporeans and their drive for excellence. 

The spirit of excellence showed in my teams, the people I meet, the stories I hear, and in my day-to-day here in Singapore. As a firm believer in the power of education, I was also deeply fascinated by the strong education system and the values that are taught. I think this sparked the ‘tiger dad’ in me to prioritize education and kindness for my two daughters. 

Two and a half years later, here I am again, back at the same spot, still with a look of wonder at this amazing country, but this time coupled with immense gratefulness for the experiences and life lessons that this place has brought me. Not only that but all the friendships that were made, definitely something I will cherish always. 

Thank you Singapore. I think I will be back :)
