Thank you, #SiemensxFCB!

As communicated via 西门子 , after years of successful cooperation with FC Bayern, the #SiemensxFCB partnership is coming to an end for now.

As you might know, the partnership is/was very close to my heart and accepting the decision has been exceptionally hard. I am taking away with me many great moments to look back on and a wealth of learnings that will shape my future work in the field of communication and sponsoring.

I am incredibly grateful that I had the privilege and trust to head the communication of the #SiemensxFCB partnership, and I am beyond proud of what we as a team have achieved over the last weeks, months and years.

Therefore, I’d like to share three takeaways the #SiemensxFCB partnership has given me.

1. Values and human centricity are key.

Data-driven campaigns such as Reimagine the Game and FC Bayern Pulse had originally set the tone, proving that data analysis and visualization are a home game for Siemens. Building on my co-workers strong foundations, I opted for a value-based communication style with human centricity. With campaigns that allowed to show what is behind the fa?ade and behind success, as seen recently in IT TAKES MORE, to make a statement with #BreakingBarriers and to shed light on the moments in life that make us who we are today, with #Overcome.

2. Teamwork and excitement are contagious.

It is fair to say that sponsoring is a business. But no matter what you hope to get out of it, to us, it has always been more than a deal. It truly has been a partnership rather than a sponsorship. As a project team, we look back on excellent teamwork. We also wanted to bring the joy and ease of the game into our own company culture with different activations: from hero campaigns to experts chats and to small exchanges. One of my personal highlights includes Siemens’ kids entering the pitch and court as player mascots. I will never forget the glimmer of excitement in the children's eyes.

3. Celebrate successes and achievements.

Celebrating achievements is sometimes frowned upon and, I also have a hard time with it sometimes (hello imposter syndrome, my dear frenemy!). But celebrating victories is something we can definitely all adopt from sports and athletes. Victories are something to be proud of and every win (however big or small) deserves respect. Even more so if they arise from a struggle or challenge. A prime example of this is the very personal and moving #Overcome campaign.

Credit where credit is due.

Working in communication means running a tight ship. The quality of cooperation and team spirit is an essential part of making successful communications happen. It really does take a village. This is where I would like to thank everyone involved for the great work with FC Bayern – colleagues, partners, agencies, fans – you made all this possible and, it means the world to me.

Thank you!

Ah, Anna-Lena, I remember speaking to you last fall about the partnership and the joy and energy that the work has given you. I am glad that you are reflecting on the partnership and sharing what you've learned. Especially the part about celebrating achievements - so very important. I look forward to raising a glass (or a coffee cup) to you the next time we meet. Again, congrats and well done, you!
