Thank You, Roy Williams
I’m not gonna lie to you all and say that I remember 2003. I was four years old, and my mom and I were just starting our new life with my stepdad, Johnny, and my stepsister, Sarah. As a toddler, I don’t have a lot of memories from that time of my life other than laughing hysterically while I watched Johnny watching UNC basketball games. There was so much emotion, so much passion, and—after a loss—so much disappointment. 2003 is also the year that Roy Williams became the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team. I didn’t know it then, but this man would set the trajectory for the rest of my life.
