Thank you to our mentors

I thought the?#ThankYourMentor post to be the most appropriate way to begin my LinkedIn posting life...
I have been fortunate enough to be mentored by Rhonda Bosch. I know I am one of many of the people that have been positively influenced by this incredible woman. Rhonda was my manager for less than two months but her support and impact in my life has gone beyond that and?will only continue to grow.
The three most important lessons?Rhonda has taught me so far are:
1. Be yourself.?
Contrary to other managers I had, Rhonda taught me?that there is no need to be a "masculine" manager to be successful as a woman in tech. She can be fun, she can be passionate?and she can also be very serious when it comes down to getting the work done. The point is to be?true to yourself and let people experience it!

2. Fight for your team.
I have never met a manager that cared as much for her team as Rhonda. She didn't care about impressing others or?playing the political game, all she cared about is being there for her team. No request could be too crazy, no comment was out of line, she wants to listen,?help you or give you guidance when needed. The importance of standing behind your team is so critical as a good leader and that is why her team (and extended team in my case) will follow her until the end. It has been over five years and I still look up to?Rhonda to tell me how I can be better or what else I should consider.?
3. Be generous.
Rhonda begins her work day with a smile, she goes around the office greeting everyone and letting them know?she is happy to see them. She has this unique ability of making everyone feel welcome whenever they approach her. It is no wonder everyone wants to get some time to chat with Rhonda regardless of the team they are in. She could be the busiest person, running three departments, probably drowning but if you asked her for a chat, she focused solely on you, listen and provided the best insight.
Rhonda, you know this already but you have been an incredible force in my life and I am forever grateful that I met you and had the privilege of being mentored by you.?
Thank you!
