Thank you Rem for making Dubai a better city!

Rem Koolhaas (Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate) has not just been the light for a generation of architects and urbanists since the late 80's, but he has a special place in our hearts in Dubai. His intellectual contribution to the discussion that created Dubai urban fabric can not be underestimated. As a city, we last month opened to the public our newest building designed by Rem. It is called Concrete, and it is a lovely space in the art district. It is significant that it is not a high rise building, it is not a curtain wall box, it is not rotating or floating and it is not shouting commercial real estate. Once again, Rem contributed to the ethics of urbanism by working on a human scale on a cultural building with minimum resources required to create a large space for cultural exchange. Thank you Rem for making Dubai a better city!
