Thank You to Our Nurses

Thank You to Our Nurses

As we celebrate #NursesWeek, I’d like to take a moment to thank the 4 million registered nurses across our great country. Your dedication to your patients inspires me throughout the year. Thank you for your attention to details and for all of the unsung moments big and small. You are clinicians, leaders, teachers and administrators – and you are resilient.

At CommonSpirit Health, our 40,000 nurses are the backbone of our healing ministry. As we forge into the future, they ensure that every person who seeks treatment at one of our 700 care centers is treated with kindness and respect. Nurses see the whole person and in doing so, often uncover the root causes of a patient’s ill health. Perhaps the patient doesn’t have a roof over their head or access to healthy food. Maybe they live in a building that has mold in the walls or lacks a refrigerator. Or maybe they just need someone to hold their hand and listen. These are the powerful stories that I have heard from nurses and they strengthen my resolve to create stronger pathways to healing in communities across our great nation.

I have always believed that it is our responsibility to make the world around us a better place than we came into it. You show, without doubt, that it is not only possible, but that it is happening every day, through each and every one of you.

To all of our nurses, thank you for all you do.
