Thank you to the men and women of the military

Thank you to the many men and women who have served in the military to defend the freedom of the United States. Today my husband carried memories on a ten-mile ruck march in the rain to honor men and women who served and some of which died during his service in Iraq. Colonel Jeff Breor organized this group “Carry the Load” by remembering and honoring their fallen comrades. It has been 15 years since Craig Combs served in Iraq for the first time. He would return to Iraq for a second tour a duty a few years later. He was honored to carry the memories of the three they lost from our Battalion, SSG Steve Morin, SFC Tommy Folks & Airman First Class Elizabeth Jacobson. He also carried for his Uncle, SGT Orval F Combs (killed during WW11) and his first chaplain assistant, SGT James Peach.

My life has been touched by the many men and women I know who have sacrificed so much with so little recognition. Please reach out to anyone you know this week and thank them for their service to this country. We all live safely because of their service.
