Thank you and last day at Rally Health

After an amazing 5.5 years, I’ve decided to move on from Rally Health. It’s been an incredible journey. Over the course of my time with Rally, I’ve had the privilege of wearing many hats; I’ve been a board member, an investor, and ultimately president and coo, overseeing Rally’s impact and growth into a billion-dollar business.

We all know that the American health care system is complicated and expensive. It’s hard to navigate, hard to get clarity about costs and benefits, and, in a world where we’ve come to expect on-demand services and easy interfaces, it’s just plain hard to use.

I’m proud of the work we have all done to build the Rally platform to make the health care process easier and more streamlined. Today, over 45 million people now have access to Rally – and I’m confident that number will continue to grow in the years to come.

Rally has become an indispensable tool for health plans, health care providers, and employers to help guide members, patients, and employees on their health care journeys. Through Rally, our customers understand what their benefits really are, find appropriate care at an affordable price point, and live healthier and happier lives.

But I realize it’s way too early for victory laps. There’s a lot that remains to be done, both at Rally and for our health care system more broadly. There are nearly 30 million people in our country that remain uninsured and lack reliable access to health care. Our system at a national level is still in dire need of improvement, and I hope to continue to have a voice in that effort. My time at Rally has been special and transformative. I was inspired by the passion and drive my colleagues brought to work each day. Nobody watched a clock or a stock ticker; we watched out for the people who were counting on us to help them make the journey to better health.

I want to take the opportunity to thank our partners – UnitedHealthcare and Optum and many more – who have allowed us to realize our vision at scale. Thank you to the Rally team for all of your dedication and hard work. And thank you to everyone who has entrusted us with their faith and their health.

One of the things my team gave me as a going away present was a collage of a series of Polaroids, taken at different Rally gatherings and events. The pictures were arranged in a circle and framed that way. I loved each image, but I also loved that, together, they looked like a wheel. And that seemed fitting, because I know that Rally will keep rolling forward. As for me and what's next on the work front, stay tuned.
