Thank you!
I recently stumbled across John Donne’s “No Man is an Island.” It is a poem I have often thought of and love. This Thanksgiving, I am so grateful to live within such a rich network of family, friends, classmates, professors, mentors, and colleagues. We do live in a cooperative and interdependent society and though sometimes this complicates our lives; it also enriches them greatly.
I believe all our actions eventually end up affecting others for good or ill. On this Thanksgiving, I say Thank You; to you, who have dropped pebbles into the pond and created ripples that have helped me along my way. “No man is an island entire of itself… any man’s death diminishes me.” May we build each other more, love each other more, and rejoice in each other more this Thanksgiving session and always.
My sincerest thank you to those who build, inspire, and quietly carry loads on your back. Everyone in my network here has impacted my life in some way for the better and I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! Happy Thanksgiving- Jill Bonsteel
