HotelTonight is now profitable -- a thank you to our team
Today we shared some incredibly exciting news about HotelTonight. As of April, we are profitable and we got there without sacrificing our high growth rate. This milestone will give us the resources to invest more in the product, bring more innovations to the market and position us for a future public offering.
I wanted to take a minute to congratulate and thank the HotelTonight team for this truly incredible achievement.
Last year, we decided not to raise additional capital and focused on getting to profitability. We called this initiative B2P (“build to profitability”) and it was an all-hands-on-deck, give-it-everything-you’ve-got effort. I saw the team come together and work as hard as I’ve ever seen people work. I saw them challenge themselves and each other. I saw them win "Frugal Not Cheap” awards week after week, finding clever ways to cut costs, while also finding ingenious ways to grow our bookings. I saw them come into the office on holiday weekends, brainstorm together over weekly lunches, and strategize from adjacent treadmills while training for the half-marathon we ran together.
It was an amazing feat, and you guys brought it, with smiles and determination and donuts and that inimitable HT builder spirit.
I’m so incredibly proud of and thankful for Team HT, and can’t wait to show the world what they are building next. Game on!

8 年Congratulations, Sam! Saw you speak at Sx 2 years ago and you were incredibly clear and levelheaded about what you and your team wanted to do with Hoteltonight. (It was the only presentation that stuck with me from that Sx, btw.) Love using your product, and keep up the great work!
