Thank YOU

Thank YOU

I was on a call with one of our facilitators about 15 years ago. At the end of the call, he asked me if I liked living in UAE. I told him that I loved being here and raising my children in the safety of UAE with a tolerant culture that allowed my kids to experience the best from the East and the West. However, my only regret was not having any Emirati friends. Without hesitation, he said: “Consider me as your friend and next Eid come over to our home and get to know my family.”

As Law of Attraction helps you when you really seek something, we happened to have another conversation just before Eid Al Fitter – a celebration after a month of fasting which helps to cleans both your body and soul. I polity reminded him of his invitation which was generously welcomed. He said that would be great as his mother would be with them and all the family would come to his house to celebrate.

That year, my family and I experienced how people form the United Arab Emirates celebrate their Eid, welcoming family members with open arms and sharing breakfast after a month of fasting.

This became a yearly ritual for my family to visit his beautiful family every Eid and rebuild our connections. They made us feel as part of the family when we attended their son’s wedding and his mother’s and brother’s funeral.

Three years ago, he became the sponsor of my company and has been a great support whenever we needed assistance. Recently, we discussed some financial hardship that SMEs are facing and without hesitation, he granted us a waiver for a period of time. This is when other organisations are making redundancies to cut costs!

Here I wanted to thank my friend, who wants to stay anonymous, and let the world know that there are still many people with humanitarian values. I’d like to dedicate this post to his parents who have raised him and his siblings with values that our future world needs to survive.
