Thank you and Farewell to my Manulife Colleagues

Thank you and Farewell to my Manulife Colleagues

It's the end of an era, after almost 23 incredible years, I've parted ways with Manulife. I am grateful to the people I've worked with over the years, who've shared their knowledge and skills with me, who've helped me grow professionally and personally, and I'll miss working with you dearly.

When I reflect over the years, it's hard to believe how I ended up navigating to where I am today. I've always thought that the most successful partnerships over the wholeness of time carry forth an equitable "win-win" balance for both parties. I can proudly say that this was certainly the case for Manulife and myself. Although my bent towards technology was interwoven within each of my roles, I would not have established such deep roots within the financial services industry if it had not been for the breadth of opportunities that Manulife provided me.

This incredible journey covered so much ground and involved countless talented and unique individuals who have all contributed to who I've become. I have so much gratitude for all that have supported me throughout the years. Leaders, peers, colleagues, team members, 3rd party partners the list goes on. My success would also not be possible without my family's support, who have been riding shotgun with me through this journey. Thank you to all whom I've crossed paths with during my time with Manulife. Thank you for your trust, confidence, and openness to allow me to grow. Thank you for investing in me.

It's time to recharge, refocus, and reenergize.

I know some of you are interested in hearing about my "plans," so here is where my head is at for the short term. I'm looking forward to some downtime over the summer with family, friends, and carving out time for myself. Those who know me well won't be surprised to hear that I have a long list of projects. These projects will include much time outdoors working with my hands and learning something new each day. I'm also working on some personal structure to ensure I maintain a balance between the physical and mental aspects of my well-being. Reading, listening to podcasts, meditation, and general networking are things I'm currently pulling together. Have you read a good book or listened to a good podcast that you think I should consider? Feel free to share your recommendations in the comments.

Lastly, please don't be a stranger. If there is one thing that this COVID period has taught us, the world keeps turning despite our limited face to face interactions. I've had some fantastic phone calls and video chats in recent weeks, and I welcome all opportunities to stay connected with those interested in doing so.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and remember that we all play a role in helping this planet move constructively in the right direction. When we act with respect, kindness, and integrity, we all stand a better chance of achieving goals and improving the world around us.
