I am writing to express my gratitude to the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, Dr. Yunus. I carefully listened to his address to the nation and was struck by his critical analysis of the bureaucratic issues in the country. I believe he is on the right track.
I recall that many Bangladeshis wanted Dr. Yunus to lead the Bangladesh Government decades ago. However, I strongly disagree with this notion due to the desire of Bangladeshi Bengalis. Bangladeshi Bengalis want nothing more than to be recognized as Bengalis, and they seek a Bengali national leader. All Bengalis, including BNP, Jamaat E Islami, Tablighi, and others, unanimously agreed on “Mujib” as the undisputed Bengali national leader in the thousands of years of Bengali history.
I performed two Rakat prayers and viewed a referendum for Bengalis during the 2008 election. The elections resulted in a landslide victory for the Awami League-led grand alliance. They won 263 out of the 300 directly elected seats. The main rival four-party alliance only received 32 seats, while the remaining four went to independent candidates. The polling in the Noakhali-1 constituency was postponed due to the mysterious death of the AL candidate. The election for the seat was held on 12 January 2009 and was won by the BNP candidate. The voter turnout was 87%, the highest ever recorded in a Bangladeshi general election. Bangladeshi Bengalis gave the verdict that they want “Mujib” to be their father.

The Bengali people in Bangladesh desired to be Bengali and considered Mujib as their father. But Allah made Mujib their father and then brought about his downfall in front of all the Bengalis' eyes. Understanding Allah's plan is not easy. He does things that are beyond our imagination.
Many people have asked me a question: "Are you a miracle?" I responded with "maybe." The Muslim League was formed in 1906 with between 3,000 to 4,000 people and only a few hundred delegates. My grandfather was one of the delegates. It's interesting to consider why my father was an only son, why he married my mother in his middle age and passed all the knowledge to me as a primary source of knowledge and why I ended up in NYC as a coordinator for Muslim students in the Tri-state area, with opportunities to meet high-profile individuals in both NYC and DC. It's all part of Allah's plan. I believe Allah kept me alive to convey to the Bengalis that it was the Muslims who sacrificed to liberate them, not Mujib.
I wholeheartedly support Dr. Yunus and hope that he continues to work hard in his older age to bring about a "New Morning" in Bangladesh. As the son of an elderly man, I have witnessed how tirelessly he works, sleeping only a few hours and dedicating much of his time to work and contemplation. I hope to see a new era unfold in Bangladesh before my time comes to an end.
