Thank you for being part of my own PostdocTransformation

Welcome back, dear PostdocTransformer,

we ended season 4 on a high note!

When I started my podcast on January 27th. 2023 with the inaugural episode "How to check your readiness to leap out of science", I had hopes for my PostdocTransformation show.

I wanted to inspire and encourage the underprivileged, underrepresented and underserved scientist leaping into business.

You can let us know in the comments, how we are doing so far, as we are still on it!

Every comment and like counts as engagement and this would support our mission to serve for free.

I chose English, as this is the language that unites scientist around the world, whether they are in their home country or internationals in their chosen country. I respect all internationals who research and lecture in their second language. I am going my extra mile to not speak in German, my native tongue.

As a professor, with a heart for my bachelor and master students, I also included a couple of episodes serving them the most, as they are at the turning points of continuing on their academic paths. If they still choose to become #IchBinHanna, I want to be the at least the one, who was transparent to them.

Individual career planning is difficult without resources, role models and reflection opportunities. All of this I want to offer with my podcast. After many solo episodes, I wanted to serve the ones who don't look like me, as representation matters.

So, inviting leaders in science and business was my next move and also my own pleasure and inspiration.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to share their voices with you. These are informational interviews that most of us don't get and I am so proud they said yes to me - for you, dear PostdocTransformer.

As you can tell, I enjoy podcasting (my students in real life know, I enjoy talking about career topics, even if it's a tangent to our lectures (but as I teach industrial and occupational psychology, there are endless opportunities to digress into career topics).

I never experienced a professor who talked about careers, but my thesis supervisor said, becoming a professor is a roulette game. I saw women postdocs being slow and changing career paths when they had children. What I saw, without "being in the know", was enough for me to feel defeated when I was awarded as a PhD student to join numerous Nobel laureates at the Lindau meetings. The only woman Nobel laureate, who was planned to come, did not come. As she has no children, I honestly don't know, whether I would have asked her my real questions.

My show, my rules. Like in my classroom, I also discussed hot topics and I am really happy to know, that some of my male students also listen to our show.

My and your students are the experts and leaders of our future and for all our children.

I dedicate our show to them for our Future of Work.

All things fall into place and I was late to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, podcasting and Pinterest. If I can learn creating an online presence and influence, you can leap into business.
