Thank You...

I was overwhelmed by the warm reaction I received to me updating my “current role” on LinkedIn a few days ago. Friends and former colleagues from around the world have been very kind in their messages of support & encouragement, with many of you I know, visiting the Unisyn website and LinkedIn Page to get a stronger understanding of this new chapter I am starting.

Many of you reached out to specifically engage and ask questions, a frequently recurring one being: “Why not just retire? What else do you want to do?”

The simple answer is that I love the Hospitality Industry & the wonderful people that I’ve had the pleasure to get to know within it.

And I know there’s both still much more for me to discover, and as importantly, that there’s perhaps ways in which I can give back to this great Industry & to the incredible people who devote their working lives to creating memorable experiences for their customers, every day.

The Hospitality Industry has given so much to me over the decades, and as I moved on from being CEO of Aramark UK, I gave myself space to think about not only the biggest challenges facing the Hospitality sector - which at the time struck me as being that we were significantly lagging other industries in digital transformation, hence the founding of SerTech Exchange - but also to start to envisage what might represent an “ideal world” - One that could have a transformational impact on everyone directly involved in this Industry...

These next two paragraphs became the written embodiment of my dream:

The Dream

Imagine for a moment, the day where every

single associate in your organization was able

to hear and be heard, where every single

associate had access to all that they needed

to do their job well every day, where every

single associate not only knew what your

Company Mission was, but felt empowered to

make this a reality in every interaction they

had with every customer…

And imagine for a moment, the day where a

process exists that enables you and your

senior team to learn directly about individual

associates' great performances and of their

ideas to make your business better, and that

enabled you to recognize these associates

publicly and to share their best practices

across your organization…fast.

Just imagine…

I wonder if “The Dream” resonates with you??…It’s been a powerful, centering force in my journey?over the last six years.?

It was the potential to turn my “Dream” into reality that inspired me to literally search the globe for solutions?– after researching technologies, leadership best practices, and change management strategies from all over the world, I found what I needed to make the dream a reality...Unisyn is the result of both the last six years of my work life & of the shared wisdom from all the amazingly clever, humble & inspirational people that I have been fortunate to have broken bread with during this last chapter of my work-life.

Unisyn has been created by?combining the technology enablement of a powerful cloud-based, Enterprise-grade frontline associate digital platform, founded in Asia, with the proven best practices in frontline engagement?& empowerment?from?some of the leading service organizations in the world.

I am joined in this?terrific business by?some?incredibly?talented?colleagues?whose knowledge and expertise has been drawn together to create Unisyn, and?as a result, turn my longstanding dream into a?tangible opportunity for our clients.?

What we’ve built is extraordinary. But more importantly, “The Opportunity” (no longer a “Dream”) for the whole Hospitality industry is even more extraordinary.?

I hope that as you learn more about Unisyn, you too might see this as the enabler to empowering every one of your associates to deliver consistent excellence for your customers…everywhere, every day.
