When building a business you go through a series of phases. 2016 has been another year of realisation @ Oncam & an important phase where we have proven to ourselves that its all about the people!

Think about it, how can it not be, without them for all the tech, innovation, patents etc we have nothing.

One of my favourite Simon Sinek quotes is this one: -

The choices available to talented individuals in terms of their career right now are vast and varied. With such competition out there "we" better be sure we know "Our Why" as a company and are willing to provide the environment in which these brilliant people can thrive once they arrive.

With our talent acquisitions in Honk Kong, New Delhi, UK & US this year alone we've not just found people, we've found Oncam people. Our move of the UK office to the outstanding Chiswick Park (below image) has been a revelation in terms of providing an environment which is conducive to success and widely lauded by our team & all who visit.

As important as getting our hires right have been our collaboration with partners has been critical. We are really starting to find our feet when it comes to this part and this year it showed as we partnered better than ever. Our Channel Partners are our immediate clients and finding the right ones has been key. Already in North Asia after only a few months of Daniel Elvin being on board 2017 looks a very exciting prospect in that region due to the quality of partners he has engaged with.

We really stepped up our game when it comes to Technology Partners engagement globally. The work done by Sanna Leerkes & Simon Reed across Europe alongside Milestone Systems for example ensuring our continued commitment to their Open Community: -

Each year should be all about levels and 2017 we need to find that next level again. That means: -

• Addition of more top talent to the Oncam team
• Greater tech innovation coming out the door from Product Management and our Boston based R&D division
• Deeper integration & collaboration on a technical and team level with technology partners
• Industry first research into key vertical markets helping to drive education around ours and partners technology
• Ongoing commitment to playing our part within Industry forums/bodies such as ONVIF via the likes of our own Steven Dillingham
• Be the innovative bunch discovering the new use cases for 360 degree technology and continue to drive innovation where trends such as Mobile are concerned.
• Communicate, communicate & communicate a little more. Internally & externally the information flow is what keeps us real and obviously informed.

This is my last blog of the year as I take some time after today to enjoy my wonderful family over the upcoming break.
