I'm not sure I truly appreciated this critical role until about a decade ago. I have a long-winded story that crossed many years and geographies on how I ended up not only fully trusting, but also fully collaborating with, an administrative professional who 100% helped me thrive. And I fully credit a business mentor of mine mid-career who spent almost a full year with me teaching me how to trust an executive assistant fully, so the support fueled the growth - for me personally, the team I led, the team I supported, and the company as a whole.
