Thales is on the road towards operational excellence, and we are taking our suppliers with us

Our clients have big ambitions and therefore so should we. In a world as quickly evolving as ours, we must adapt to our changing landscape: our markets’ higher expectations, Thales’s expanding footprint and an increased competition we are facing every day.

Thales is growing, and as highlighted by our CEO Patrice Caine, we want to become leader in all our markets. Becoming a global leader implies to further develop our competitiveness and Procurement plays a strategic role in that regard.

To develop our competitiveness, we have implemented a comprehensive transformation plan to support the Procurement function into becoming a strategic value creator for Thales.

As part of this program, we have started to embark our suppliers in a journey towards operational excellence.

At Thales, we see our suppliers as partners. And we need to partner for success.

This is why we hold last week our first Thales Global Supplier Conference, a key milestone in Thales Procurement transformation.

With more than 250 strategic suppliers gathered in our Paris site, we shared on Thales’s ambition and strategic priorities for the future. Competitiveness, digitalization, innovation and business perspectives were many of the topics we discussed together with our suppliers. Thales also awarded 9 of its strategic suppliers, who provided outstanding contribution to Thales’s performance and reflect on the kind of collaboration we wish for.

A tight collaboration with our suppliers will help us to secure even further Thales’s supply chain while bringing more innovation upstream in our process. Today, we are counting on all our suppliers to help us reach the next level in that regards.

This Global Supplier Conference marks an important milestone in our Procurement transformation roadmap.

I am very proud of what we have already accomplished, and excited about the challenges that remain to address. We are hoping last week’s discussions will pave the way for further collaboration with our suppliers in addressing, today, tomorrow’s challenges.

Many thanks to all the suppliers and Thales teams who attended the event!

As long as the framework for collaborative leadership is aligned to the strategic ambition then leveraging the 70% cost of sales from the supply chain will deliver greater value.? It is about the senior leadership setting the tone so well done Thales.??
