This is NOT a travel blog and by no means am I or my hubby foodies.
However, after our recent trip to Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand, I felt?compelled?to share our Thai food experience. Basically, our love of food went through the roof.
When it was confirmed, we were leaving for Thailand, we were STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to not hold back on sampling their food, and BOY, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
?If you do the research, Thai cuisine is renowned for its bold and flavorful dishes that often balance sweet, spicy, sour, and salty flavors. It's a diverse and aromatic cuisine with a wide range of dishes. YUMMO! Here are some popular dishes and some of its staple dishes:
?Pad Thai:?A stir-fried noodle dish made with rice noodles, eggs, tofu, or shrimp, and a flavorful sauce made from tamarind, fish sauce, and various seasonings.
Tom Yum Goong:?A spicy and sour shrimp soup with ingredients like lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and fish sauce.
Green Curry (Gaeng Keow Wan):?A spicy curry made with coconut milk, green chili peppers, and various herbs. It is often prepared with chicken or seafood.
Red Curry (Gaeng Phed):?Similar to green curry but made with red chili peppers and a different combination of herbs and spices.
Massaman Curry: A milder and slightly sweet curry with influences from Persian and Indian cuisine, featuring ingredients like cinnamon, cloves, and peanuts.
Som Tum: A spicy green papaya salad made with shredded unripe papaya, chili peppers, lime, fish sauce, and other seasonings.
Tom Kha Gai: A coconut milk-based soup with chicken, galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, known for its creamy and aromatic flavor.
Pad Kra Pao:?A popular stir-fry dish made with holy basil, chili, garlic, and your choice of meat (often pork or chicken), served with rice and a fried egg on top.

Mango Sticky Rice (Khao Niew Mamuang): A delicious dessert made with glutinous rice, fresh mango slices, and a sweet coconut milk sauce.
Satay:?Skewered and grilled meat (often chicken or beef) served with a peanut sauce and a side of cucumber-onion salad.
Pad See Ew:?A stir-fried noodle dish made with wide rice noodles, eggs, and a sweet soy sauce.
Khao Soi:?A northern Thai dish consisting of a coconut curry soup with egg noodles and topped with crispy fried noodles.
Sticky Rice with Mango (Khao Niew Mamuang):?A classic Thai dessert made with glutinous rice, fresh mango slices, and a sweet coconut sauce.
?And folks, I am just naming a few. There is much?much?more. What is fascinating about this food culture is the common ingredients in their cuisine: coconut milk with Thai herbs, spices (like lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and basil), fish sauce, shrimp paste, tamarind, chilies, and palm sugar.
?This kind of food can range from mild to extremely spicy, depending on your preference. It's a cuisine known for its vibrant flavors and the blending of various taste elements.
?I HAD TO SHARE this with you all… ENJOY!
