Liverpool goes water power
Hi dear Good News Affiniado
From fast-recovering corals, AI freeing paralyzed people, India winning over poverty to plastic bottles used as currency, I've shown these past weeks that amazing things are happening on our planet and more positive things will happen.
When we are positive, seeking positivity, and spreading positivity, then the world can't do otherwise than become an (even more) beautiful place to be.
I kindly ask you, nay, beg you to make a little positive gesture today and report it to me via DM or by leaving a comment here. I'll gather all your positive acts and they will all go into the next issue and I will tag all of you of course. Remember, 17,000 people will read this. Wouldn't that shed a great light on you (and on our world)?
But for now, let's head over to Liverpool, UK for some

Good News!
Liverpool City Region is making strides towards achieving a net-zero economy by initiating plans for the construction of the world's largest tidal power plant in the River Mersey and the Bay of Liverpool. With a history dating back to 1924, the project aims to leverage the city's substantial tidal range to power one million homes and protect against flooding, all while preserving the local ecosystem. Proposed features include a large dam equipped with turbines and sluice gates, strategically positioned to harness tidal energy efficiently.
Liverpool Mayor Steve Rotherham sees this endeavour as a unique opportunity to utilise the city's natural assets for a cleaner, greener future. Although tidal power projects are relatively rare, they offer a reliable alternative to solar and wind energy, which can be susceptible to weather disruptions. With consultation from experienced entities like the Rance tidal power plant in France and K Power in South Korea, the multibillion-dollar project is advancing into formal planning stages, promising long-term sustainability and prosperity for Liverpool and its residents.
Have a smiling rest of the week - See you on Thursday
