TGIF! But What Happens to Your Weekend Diet?

It’s all well and good during the week. You’ve been eating your oranges, sticking to your calorie count, and have been cooking healthy meals. You even have a workout buddy who motivates you to continue eating healthy. You haven’t cheated, and you’re feeling proud of yourself! But then it’s Friday.

The Weekend Dilemma: Fitness vs. Fun

What’s your typical Friday like? Apart from the pure joy of having an entire weekend ahead, do you feel some dread thinking about all the binge eating you might indulge in? But hey, that would ruin all the planning and effort you’ve put in during the week!

Don’t worry, it’s just the weekend. You deserve your fair share of fun whether you enjoy a soda or a beer. Denying yourself some fun will only breed resentment and unhappiness towards your fitness goals, and you shouldn’t have that kind of relationship with food. Go out with your friends, but keep some healthy eating tips in mind while you’re out.

Keep Your Routine: Healthy Weekend Habits

Even though it’s a Saturday, continue following your weekday routine so you aren’t tempted to throw all your plans out the window. Stick to your breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack routine so you can keep track of your calories. If you have an evening planned and anticipate consuming a higher quantity of calories, eat lower-calorie foods during the day to make up for it! Remember, it’s all about calorie management!

Smarter Food Choices for the Weekend

Opt for idli sambar on Saturday morning instead of your usual masala dosa, and switch out your ice cream with some yogurt and fruit. Order a refreshing juice instead of cola. If you want cola, make it diet cola! Little tricks like this will keep you healthy, full, and on track with your fitness goals.

Creating Healthy Weekend Habits

Instead of opting out of eating altogether (which is extremely unhealthy), choose foods that won’t throw you off your calorie goals for the day. Making these healthier choices a habit will help you stick to your routine, even on weekends. This way, you can have fun and enjoy your weekend without compromising your fitness journey.
