TGIF - A week for reflection

This week has been a week for reflection, not only for myself but with friends and peers. Firstly we are already into August - where did that year go, and secondly the days are becoming longer which always causes me to come out of the cave.
I am TRUSTING my year of growth and cannot believe how much I have learnt and how far I have come. This year started with one resolution and one resolution only - to open up my mind, be curious and read 4 books per month. This practice has shown me how much I don't know and how enlightening it is not to be the expert in the room.
I am GRATEFUL for my Mothers love and hugs in a week where self reflection can bring about sorrow for those we have lost and a feeling like maybe we could have done more. When I said to Mum, "There are days I don't feel like I fit in anywhere, let alone belong." Her response was an empathetic hug and "You will always belong with me, pick up the phone and come here when you feel that way." Thanks Mum for not trying to fix me or convince me otherwise - it was exactly what I needed.
I am being INSPIRED by Mark Twain, Joan of Arc. When I was little someone gave me a book about Joan of Arc for my birthday. At age nine, it rocked my world. I became obsessed in understanding how she felt and was in awe of her passion, faith and the importance of being kind. So, time to read again and see what I learn through adult eyes.
This weekend we have headed to the country for FUN - a little village called Richmond in Tasmania. There is something grounding about being able to wake up in a vineyard surrounded by animal noises with your grand daughter getting up to start the day with you. Not to mention the tooth fairy came and was very kind as it was her first "big tooth" to go.
What ever has happened for you this week I hope you have found something to trust in, be grateful for, by inspired by and had a little fun along the way.
