Text/ SMS from Infor OS - ION API

ION API?is a software system for brokering requests from API consumers, such as web and mobile applications, and API providers, such as Infor enterprise or third-party services.

As a broker sits between consumers and providers (technically it is a reverse proxy), it can provide many benefits to both consumers and providers.

Below is a list of some of the benefits?ION API?offers:

• Common base URL path
• Common authentication mechanism
• Authorize client access
• Ability to enhance the API capabilities without modifying the target API server or its code, for example:
• Provide performance statistics
• Log API usage patterns and search those logs

With Infor OS's newer capabilities, we can now send text/ SMS notifications with three easy steps.

1)?????Create your account on Twilio

2)?????Add and Register Twilio Deployment on your Multi-Tenant ION API Gateway

3)?????Use the SMS API through your ION workflow

Step 1:?Create your account on Twilio

The most important part is to create your organization’s account on Twilio and to set up the appropriate services.

-?Make a note of your Account SID, Auth Tokens, or download the API Endpoint keys and other relevant information.

?Step 2: Add Twilio API to ION API Gateway on your Tenant/ Infor OS.

• Click on Create New
• Configure Deployment
• Choose the appropriate Authentication Type.
• Populate the credentials from Step 1/ Twilio Account.

Step 2b: Verify/ Confirm the status of the Deployment

?Step 2c: Review the available/ populated APIs by clicking on the Document button on the Endpoint.

Step 2d: Create and Test Sample API

Text received successfully

Step 3: Now, this functionality/ API can be leveraged in any Infor workflow notifications to push text alerts.
