Texas School Tragedy Spurs to Upgrade Safety & Protect All Children's Lives

This week, Capitol Hill held a resounding victory for gun safety. Thanks to congressional leaders, an important decision passed. Yet, it wasn’t so conclusive.

As we all were mourned the recent tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas, a Georgia Congresswoman Lucy McBath noted that “in 4 years since Parkland, 10 years since Sandy Hook, and 23 years since Columbine, our federal government has done almost nothing to prevent this same tragedy from happening over and over and over again.”?

Congresswoman McBath noted that “it is a uniquely American problem. This doesn't happen anywhere else in the world. Only in America does every parent have to teach their children what an "active shooter drill" is. Only in America will thousands of children and parents?live forever with the trauma that a person with a gun shot up?their school, or their?church, or their supermarket…”

Now, Safe America looks to do more – to help Save All Mankind (SAM). We’re meeting with a series of leaders and will plan to ‘unveil’ a campaign to help distribute new technology products that can help remove kids from schools safely and quickly.

Then there’s our ‘SAFE Tomorrows’ educational booklet. We’ve worked to share this with middle schools… helping youth learn what they need to do to be ‘their own first responder.’ And, we'll introduce 'SAM' - the Safe T Bear - who will help teach young children safety issues, also.

This next school year, we’ll also look at recruiting teenagers who can help teach youth on social media. And, through our YouTube channel – called ‘Safety News Network’ (SNN), we’ll upload more reports – to help parents and adults learn how to protect themselves and their children.

No one thinks of September as a special month. But it has been – since 9/11. And, while FEMA thoughtfully labeled it as ‘National Preparedness Month,’ we’re re-starting what we did with Walmart – called ‘Safe America Month.’ Together with firms such as UPS, Primerica, Crawford & Company, Enterprise, AMR and a host of non-profits, we’ll host Zoom conferences and podcasts, to help make people ‘practice drills to survive difficult challenges.’ We’ll also look to plan a new global event in 2024 – called ‘Leap Forward.’ Imagine using February 29 for a global ‘drill day.’ And, we’ll look how to offer awards to countries, companies and individuals who have made the WORLDSAFE.

Ironically, the Uvalde, Texas’ tragedy is leading to better safety. We applaud Georgia Congresswoman Lucy McBath - who lost her own son a decade ago - to fight gun shooting. Together with millions of Americans, Safe America offers our prayer to bless the families who lost their children. And, we will dedicate our work to make the future safer for all.
