The Idaho based labor economics data company, Emsi, previously owned by careerbuilder, has released their annual Talent Attraction Scorecard. This year, my home state of Texas makes a strong showing with 3 of the top 10 counties in the United States for Talent Attraction.
- Collin County (Mckiney, TX Area) is at #3
- Denton County (Denton, TX Area) is at #6
- Conroe County (North of Houston) comes in at #9
- Travis County (Home of Austin, TX) broke into the top 20 for the first time at number 12.
How will the pandemic affect cities?
The data isn’t in yet but Emsi was able to highlight the cities with the highest population losses between February and July of 2020. Not surprisingly, high cost of living areas like New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles topped the list.

4 年Great share. Will be interesting to watch if and how some of these large cities bounce back from some large population losses. I think we often forget how these moves affect things like sales tax revenue in big cities and states too.
