Texas Authors Day at State Capital 2017

On behalf of myself and the Board of Directors, we want to thank everyone who came out to the first Texas Authors Day at the State Capital on March 8, 2017.

These type of events are critical to getting the state legislature to realize and understand the financial and educational impact that Texas Authors has in this great state. Current estimates put Authors at an economic value to the state of $1 Billion dollars! This is from sales tax revenue and money changing hands in Texas, which creates jobs and more sales tax revenue.

Authors are the only group of creative minds that are not supported as much as they should be in the Creative fields. This has to change and by having Authors voice their concerns to their legislature can this then happen.

Our next big project involving the Texas legislature is to get an appropriations bill passed that will help fund the Texas Authors Institue of History museum, the only museum in the country dedicated to a states author's group. YES, YOU! Your book will live on in history, as will the thousands of other authors that have contributed their works for people to read and enjoy. 

Help us get the word out to YOUR Texas Senator or House of Representative member that this appropriations bill should be approved.
