In his speech, Tarpley emphasized the Energy Workforce’s global support for its member companies, particularly through its Latin America chapter based in Argentina, led by Jorge Vidal , 斯伦贝谢 . This chapter serves a dual purpose: aiding companies already in the region and helping others enter the market. The association has fostered collaboration with energy companies like Vista Energy and Pan American Energy and engaged with key stakeholders, such as U.S. Ambassador Marc R. Stanley , to showcase U.S. energy technologies.

Tarpley also underscored the opportunities in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta formation, a crucial region for future energy development. While recognizing the importance of new energy technologies such as geothermal and hydrogen, he reaffirmed that hydrocarbons will meet most of the world’s growing energy needs. Energy Workforce is bullish on Argentina’s potential to provide energy security for the region and become a key player in LNG exports.

“Meeting this demand will take worldwide coordination… and it will take significant advancements in technology and expertise. That is where our [Energy Workforce Member] companies come in,” he said, emphasizing the role of innovation and efficiency in shaping the energy future.

Latin America Chapter Chair Jorge Vidal, SLB

Latin America Chapter Chair Jorge Vidal, SLB addressed attendees during the Midstream & Oilfield Services portion of the summit. His discussion focused on presenting SLB as a global technology company, how it is driving energy innovation, and how technology continues to be the driver of its engagements in Argentina. Vidal noted that there are significant strategic opportunities to unlock additional potential in the Vaca Muerta such as meeting key supply gaps around drilling tools, fracking components, and logistical and materials handling systems. These are areas where the bilateral relationship between Texas and Argentine companies can look to partner and grow.

The Chapter held a leadership dinner in Neuquén where they discussed plans for 2025 including expanding activities to other countries like Brazil and Guyana. Continuing to build on the success, the Chapter plans to host intimate lunch and learn sessions with customers based in Argentina and create networking opportunities for its members.
