My relationship with Gen AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, and similar ones goes way back. If this relationship were between two people, they would probably have reached the stage where joint real estate purchases are on the agenda – that is, a rather comfortable stage in a relationship. Loyalty in the form of joint real estate purchases can perhaps be likened, in the relationship between product and user, to paying for a year in advance to get a 10% discount. But loyalty to these tools differs from the loyalty we (or at least I, my acquaintances, and friends) feel towards people. If a prettier tool comes along, one that also seems to know who I am and what my needs are, I'll jump ship immediately. Some examples of digital side flings I've had lately include:

But until the wow factor returns, I feel no guilt about flirting with other players on the side.
