Exploring ChatGPT

Since it has been a trend for the last couple of weeks, I tried a few basic sample queries with chatGPT 3, and it responded decently. However, I would have liked to see some confidence score or indicator along with the response. Developers will definitely spend more time on ChatGPT than on Stackoverflow.

Sample Queries

Q: What is the best test automation tool for mobile app testing?

Q: What platform is best for a rule-based chatbot?

Q: write Swift code to create tableview and add constraints for landscape mode

I haven't tried to abuse or ask tricky questions. I will probably ask chatGPT to write an article and will publish here soon :)

Potential Use cases

Some of the potential use cases based on some of the articles and posts on ChatGPT

  • Assist coding and deployments: Looking at the current trend and some of the use cases people are trying it could assist developers to a larger extent. It can write SQL queries, and deployment scripts for GCP/AWS services. Also, sample codes can be a great assist if developers know how and what to ask.
  • Entity Extraction: Entity extraction from unstructured data could be a great use case. If it addresses document ingestion with greater accuracy, that will address some of the long-standing requirements/ limitations around unstructured data.
  • "Tell me a joke": This is probably the most used utterance to Alexa. It can happen with ChatGPT too and people may use the responses to post in their social media accounts to attract more followers.
  • Creative Writing/ Generate Content: ChatGPT can be used to collaborate and write articles. Auto generated content may help find accurate content much faster. It can help generate content based on specific prompts for speeches, marketing emails and endorsements etc.
  • Alternate for Search Engine: To some extent and for certain user groups, it can become a search engine and reduce traffic to sites like Google.

As I explore more, I will update this space.
