Client Testimonials

This week, I've got a pretty straight forward thought on my mind. It goes like this:

  1. Testimonials (digitized referrals) are the #1 trust-building marketing strategy.
  2. The SEC said you're allowed to use them now.
  3. The tools now exist to do it easily and safely.
  4. We want to help you capture and leverage your clients' stories.

If you have clients that love you, this is one of those rare cases where regulators actually?created an opportunity for you.

The gate is open, but so few advisors are taking advantage of it. Why is that? It comes from a variety of reasons.

Maybe it's that business has been doing fine based on referrals alone.

Maybe it's that there's a perceived risk of getting it wrong and the SEC comes knocking.

?Or maybe you just don't have the time to do the research on your own to understand how it all works.

?But let me ask you this...

Highlighting Marriage and Parenting in Financial Planning

We try to be discrete about sharing content we create for our clients, but every once in a while, there's one that deserves some time in the spotlight.

Not because of our work–but because of the advisor's voice.

We recently had one of those moments with our client Vizonary Wealth Management. In honor of Valentine's Day, advisor Wayne Wagner Jr, ChFC sat down with his wife for an interview on marriage and parenting through the lens of money.

On a personal note, we were behind the camera taking notes, and not just for marketing.

This interview was incredibly rich in insight and heart. It also just so happens to have garnered a dozen shares by their clients and 20 hours of view time in its first week on YouTube.

And now... dating advice for brands.

"The only real dating advice is self-improvement. To meet an incredible person, become an incredible person."

I came across this quote on social media the other day. I thought this was clever – maybe a tad oversimplified, but thought-provoking nonetheless.

If you want to attract an incredible spouse, you have to be the kind of person who deserves it.

Similarly, I've met a range of advisors.

Some are incompetent and some are phenomenal.

Some are excellent marketers and some have never given it serious attention.

The worst combination = sketchy advisors who are great marketers.

A common combination = exceptional advisors who have never focused on marketing.

Sure, excellent advisors tend to do well because they earn referrals and rarely lose clients. But... I've had the privilege of helping exceptional advisors conquer the marketing world. The results are incredible.?

And more importantly, the world needs exceptional advisors to win. Too many subpar options with big marketing budgets (and sales contests) are vying for households.

It's time for deserving advisors to attract the amazing clients they deserve. If that's you, let's get to work!
