+++ GenAI Gimmickery in Testing
While AI in test automation is not new, the introduction of GenAI to test automation platforms is something that’s only cropped up in recent years. With the boom of ChatGPT, every platform has thrown GenAI in willy-nilly, or they’ve overpromised, saying that GenAI can practically do all your testing for you.
But, GenAI is not at this point yet.
And that’s why we’re here. As we’ve been operating Viruoso QA with a robust core of AI for the past eight years, we’d like to think we’re the experts when it comes to filtering out the noise and getting to the real value.
AI can’t do it all (yet), but there are still ways to effectively implement AI into your platform. Hugo Farinha, CTO and co-founder of Virtuoso QA, was recently featured in Forbes with six tips for implementing AI and questions you should be asking.

+++ QA Metrics for Digital Transformation Success
The 2024-25 World Quality Report noted that the biggest challenge for QA trying to be adopted into the Agile lifecycle is that QA isn’t seen as a strategic activity in their organizations. But the success of Digital Transformation, which impacts every area and person in business, can, in part, be measured by a handful of QA metrics.
●?????? Release Frequency - Once your teams adapt to the changes Digital Transformation requires, you’ll be able to start releasing with more speed. While this KPI could only sit within DevOps, it’s a metric that the entire SDLC, including QA, has an impact on.
●?????? Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) - As any QA professional knows, the faster you catch bugs, the happier your customers will be. And a low MTTD is a great indicator that your Digital Transformation is having its intended effect all the way to your users.
●?????? Pass/Fail Rate - A bit of a multi-functioning metric, the pass/fail rate is a great dual indicator of how bug-ridden your product could be and how adept your testing is at catching said bugs. Using test automation with self-healing will ensure that your fail rate isn’t affected by flaky tests, just real bugs.
You can find the rest of the metrics in our downloadable reference sheet .
+++ Upcoming Talk: Leipzig Summit-Meetup on NoCode/LowCode Test Automation with VIRTUOSO (German Language)
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be speaking at the Leipzig Summit-Meetup, where the focus will be on the transformative potential of NoCode/LowCode tools in test automation. This talk will dive into how VIRTUOSO empower even Product Owners to take on test automation, enabling faster, more collaborative development cycles. If you’re curious about how non-technical team members can directly contribute to automation, this session is for you!
+++ The Future of Testing in DevOps
Traditional testing has often fallen short in the fast-paced environment of software development. Testing used to be a bottleneck for DevOps teams, a necessary but cumbersome process that didn’t mesh well with meeting ever-looming deadlines. But in recent years this has been changing, with a shift towards what is known as TestOps.
It's all about continuous testing, early bug detection, and seamless collaboration between the whole team working on the project. This involves executing automated tests at every stage of development so that feedback is immediate and actionable.

+++ Test Automation, Simplified
While test automation’s ultimate goal is to make testing faster, less repetitive, and still as versatile as manual testing, not all test automation is created equal.
Enter Virtuoso QA.
As a tester, you know exactly what you want to test. Why should you be limited to writing what you already know how to do in convoluted coding languages or having flaky software record your test steps? Natural Language Programming enables you to write your test steps exactly as you would say them in plain English, slashing your test authoring time and making them more readable. And flaky, buggy tests are a thing of the past with Machine Learning-driven self-healing. Plus, generate test AI data, create your own natural language extensions, and produce tests from business requirements, all with the help of AI.
