"For?the?Lord?will pass through to smite?the?Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon?the?lintel, and on?the?two side posts, the Lord?will pass over the door, and will not suffer?the?destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you." - Exodus 12:23
Passover commemorates the liberation of Israelites from Egyptian slavery. Let's call it what God named it - PASS OVER. By placing the blood over their door the angel of death passed over your house saving their life. If they believed they obeyed and lived. There can be no faith without belief. Those who lacked faith resulted in death.
Faith without works is dead God said. They demonstrated their faith by placing the blood over their door so the angel of death would?"pass over"?their homes. Shield by the blood of Jesus, faith and obedience saved their household.
All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. A test of faith still holds true today. The closer you draw near to God the more Satan will test you. Have your faith been tested? Our hope, faith and belief in God is our only saving grace. Obedience unto the Lord. Let not Jesus death be in vain.
"And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the?Lord?throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever." - Exodus 12:14
