1 | ??? Ronwell Talk: Quick Tips for Test Automation Engineers

We had the opportunity to speak with a Test Automation Engineer, Meri? ??yar , who shared his experience in the field.

?? Could you tell us about yourself??

Hi, this is Meri?; I am a software test automation engineer with almost one year of work experience. I was interested in cyber security engineering during my study life, but then I met with Ronwell and Test automation work. I like to do my work within the framework of a specific plan, and I do not like indiscipline.

?? What is a test automation job like??

Generally enjoyable, at some points it could be annoying, but already these points are improving engineers' knowledge and talents.

?? Is automation a promising career?

Definitely, every corporation has to work or start work with automation at least one point If they want to be one step forward than others.

?? Should you automate all testing?

If it is necessary, yes.

?? What are the various automation tools you are familiar with?

Ranorex, Selenium, Appium, Jmeter, Jenkins

?? Is there any type of test that you think should not be automated?

Maybe at the cases that need mounting or something else like this.

?? How many test cases per day do you automate?

It depends on your work. In my work, stabilization and improving the quality of different systems to work correctly with each other are more important than creating new automated test cases. That's why there is no specific amount for it.

?? Can automation testing completely replace manual testing?

The process needs to be more easily accessible with the right tools and correct methods.

?? Can we automate CAPTCHA or RECAPTCHA?

Why not? We need to find the right tools and methods?

?? What would you recommend to someone new to test automation?

Feel free to fail. These are the things that will improve you.

6 | Configuration Testing in Software and Everything About It

Configuration testing is an essential part of software testing that ensures a software application can function reliably and consistently across different configurations.

  • It involves testing an application on various operating systems, hardware platforms, and network environments.
  • Configuration testing helps reduce the risk of software failures and enhances overall software quality.
  • The process can be divided into software and hardware configuration testing, as well as client and server-level testing.
  • Objectives include validating the application's configuration, detecting problems, and analyzing system efficiency.

How to Do Configuration Testing

Steps to do configuration testing

Here are the steps involved in performing configuration testing:

  1. Identify the different configurations:?Identify the various hardware, software, and network configurations that the software may encounter in the real world.
  2. Prioritize the configurations:?Prioritize the configurations based on their importance and likelihood of usage.
  3. Create a matrix:?Create a matrix of the different configurations and test cases that need to be executed for each configuration.
  4. Prepare the test environment: Prepare the test environment to match the different configurations, including hardware, operating systems, network settings, and other software installed.
  5. Execute the test cases:?Execute the test cases for each configuration and document the results. To learn?how to create test cases, read our blog.
  6. Analyze the results:?Analyze the test results to identify any issues or defects that need to be addressed.
  7. Fix the issues:?Fix the issues found during testing and verify the fixes.
  8. Retest:?Retest software to ensure the fixes did not introduce new issues.
  9. Report the results:?Report the test results to stakeholders and provide recommendations for further improvements.
  10. Automate the testing:?Automate the configuration testing process using configuration testing tools to save time and increase accuracy.

You can ensure the software behaves consistently across different configurations and meets the needs of end-users in different environments.
