The Atlantic's article about Tesla cars is full of information which might have passed you by. So far, it has passed by the 4 people I've asked about it - that's 5 including me. For example, did you know that a range of Tesla vehicles were recalled? It gets worse, as this quote from the article illustrates with a bang:

...Then, earlier this month, the company recalled its entire fleet of Cybertrucks. A mechanical problem that trapped its gas pedal, as InsideEVs put it, “could potentially turn the stainless steel trapezoid into a 6,800-pound land missile."...

?Then - beyond the layoffs (and the grief they cause which the article doesn't expand upon), the falling profits and the cancellation of a relatively affordable Tesla car (price point $25,000) - does it get better or worse for Tesla?

Having misread the article's title (Tesla is not the next Ford. It’s the next Con Ed.), you too may have quickly jumped to the conclusion that it was going to sink much lower. Maybe you thought the article was a scoop and "is Tesla really a con?!" Read on.

Actually Tesla seems to be evolving into a utility company. The development is based on its battery technology. These are batteries that store Green Energy, such as Wind and Solar. Its their scale up which is most impressive. Their size makes it possible to store sufficient energy for entire towns.

The article reveals more and, like many articles in The Atlantic, is reason for a subscription.
