Tesla and Me.

Auto-Pilot is not new. It has been demonstrated and used in Airplanes for about 100 years now. But we must admit, Tesla have made it cool, by introducing Auto Pilot features in cars. Though many of you may already be aware of the difference between Auto Pilot and Self Driven, still I would like to mention one important distinctions here.

A Car with an auto-pilot feature is more aware of the surrounding ( Have enhanced senses ) and can maneuver itself. Note that It does not have a sense of Source and Destination.

A Self-Driven car in the other hand, is much more intelligent than this. It understands Source/Destination/Route, recognizes various objects, and can make decisions based on inputs from surrounding.

If we dive-in more, we can understand that the idea behind these two are different. Auto pilot is a natural evolution of engineering excellence to improve safety and comfort.

From the The windshield wiper ( by Mary Anderson ), Automatic start/stop of Engine, to Automatic climate control and Auto-pilot we have come a long way. Auto-pilot however seems like a giant leap. Something like we were using transistors, Calculators, Digital Organizers , tape recorders, Television, Video Recorder, CD, DVD and then one fine day we found IPhone :)

I am fascinated about nature and creation. One of the miracle of creation is the human mind. Its such a power full machine. I believe, Its the only machine in the creation, which have the capacity ( and capability )to find out how it works.

I am very much fascinated by technology as well. While reading about the recent development in the areas of Auto-pilot and Autonomous car technologies, I realized that

We ( Human beings ) our selves are are in the same phase of evolution as these technologies.

All living beings are created as auto-pilot machines. Human brain is designed much before human created society. The brain is set to auto-pilot mode to save itself, by eating and reproducing in order not to extinct. and in this mode, the driving force is fear ( originally fear of extinction, but which eventually takes different forms inside the mind )

Our auto-pilot car is also constantly trying to avoid accidents ( fear of extinction ). It operates, following a set of rules hardwired ( by manufacturer ) and soft-wired ( by settings and self learning, from environments )

Self-Driven, however, has a goal. It can do all, that can be done by a Auto-Pilot, but Its not only based on fear of extinction. It has Artificial Intelligent , It can decide when to fear and when not to.

I see everyone around me seems to be running with precision and perfection. Not sure they are in Auto-Pilot mode ( driven by fear ) or in Self-Driven mode ( with a Goal, and driven by Love and Intelligence)

The best part about human mind is that, It is capable of operating in both auto-pilot as well as Self-Driven mode

So, lets upgrade ourselves from Auto-pilot to Self-Driven today.
