TerryWhite Chemmart Joins Campaign to Raise Awareness of Elder Abuse
In alignment with the Attorney General's initiative, TerryWhite Chemmart (TWC) has launched a nationwide community education campaign to raise awareness of the growing issue of elder abuse in Australia. With cases of elder abuse on the rise, but many victims hesitant to report abuse, especially when the perpetrator is a relative, TWC's campaign aimed to empower both community members and healthcare professionals to take action.
The campaign, which was rolled out across all TWC pharmacy locations, provided information flyers to educate customers about the different forms of elder abuse, including physical, emotional, and financial abuse. In addition, TWC developed an educational module for pharmacy teams to help them identify signs of abuse and learn actionable steps they can take to protect vulnerable elders.
A key focus of the campaign was to encourage the reporting of any suspected abuse to 1800 ELDERHelp (1800 353 374). More resources and information about elder abuse can be found at www.compass.info.
TerryWhite Chemmart is proud to support this important cause and remains committed to protecting the health and safety of Australia's most vulnerable citizens.
