The Terror Attack On Nord Stream

This will be a short LinkedIn post that will attempt to dispel rumors that the United States Government attacked or sabotaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines off of the Swedish and Danish coasts in the Baltic sea. Time of reference: The attacks began on 26 September 2022 with an attack on Nord Stream pipeline (1), the estimated time of the attack was 0300 (GMT), and extended into 27 September 2022 with an attack on the Nord Stream pipeline (2), estimated time of attack 0500 (GMT). This post will also attempt to assign hypothetical or cursory blame to the Russian government and will attempt to point out what Russia sees as a gain from the attack. I will issue bullet points to stay direct and on point;

Why the United States did NOT Attack Nord Stream (1) or (2):

* The United States is fighting inflation that is ranging from 8.7% to 9.6%. Higher gas and oil prices would cause further inflation in the United States, oil and gas prices are set globally, and any instability such as an attack on Nord Stream would tighten the supply of oil and gas, thus raising the price for the whole entire globe which would translate into higher prices for American consumers, this is NOT something the current political party ( Democrats) in charge would want to see before the midterm elections.

* The current President of the United States is keen to stay away from any international intrigue before the midterm elections.

* The United States would never risk its standing with NATO or the Swedish or Finnish governments who are soon to be new inductees into NATO.

* The United States does NOT have enough oil or gas to supply ALL of Europe.

*The United States sells high-value merchandise such as defense equipment to Europe. When Europe pays higher energy costs they can NOT afford to pay for higher-end or value add goods coming from America.

* America understands that the Russian economy will have to reestablish itself after the Russo- Ukraine war and will need oil and gas resources to do so. America does NOT want an unstable Russian government that has nuclear weapons.

Why the Russian government attacked its own pipelines and what did they gain from it?

* By attacking the Nord Stream pipeline(s) Russia sends a clear message to Sweden and Finland (NATO) that Russia has the capability to conduct asymmetric warfare in the region.

*Russia will benefit as oil and gas prices rise and they are able to extort higher prices from oil and gas smugglers during the winter.

*Russia is able to disrupt shipping in the Baltic sea.

* Russia is able to test out environmental warfare or eco-warfare as a doctrine for military use without using nuclear weapons.

* The Russian government has a geographical and engineered understanding of its own pipeline. The Russian Navy patrols the area on a regular basis (see CNN link). All reporting credit goes to CNN.

*Russia's GRU is hoping to see higher inflation and economic instability in the United States so that Republicans are able to take back both houses of Congress ( Senate and House). They are hoping that Republicans will reduce military aid to Ukraine. This is a classic false flag operation employed by the GRU and the Russian government
